Slow Cooker Gourmet Caramel Apples
Ingredients
2 bags (14 oz.) caramels, unwrapped
1/4 cup water
12 green apples
1 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup coconut, toasted
1/2 cup dried cranberries
2 tablespoons chopped crystallized ginger
12 popsicle sticks
Directions
- In cast iron crock, add caramels and water.
- Cover and cook on MEDIUM for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Stir walnuts, coconut, cranberries and ginger in a shallow dish until blended.
- Push one popsicle stick in each apple, dip bottom in melted caramel and immediately roll in walnut mixture. Let stand, stick side up on wax paper lined cookie sheet. Repeat with remaining apples.
Serves: 12-14
