Chicken Pesto Sandwich
Ingredients
- 2 slices bread of choice
- 1 tablespoon softened butter, divided
- 2 tablespoons pesto, divided
- 2 slices provolone cheese
- 1 slice tomato
- 3 ounces sliced chicken breast
Directions
- Preheat Sandwich Stacker until green PREHEAT light comes on.
- Spread one side of each slice of bread with ½ of butter. Spread each opposite side with ½ pesto.
- Lift cover, top ring and cooking plate.
- Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, in bottom ring of Sandwich Stacker. Top with 1 slice of cheese, tomato and remaining slice of cheese.
- Lower cooking plate and top ring. Add chicken to cooking plate. Top with remaining slice of bread, buttered side up.
- Close cover. Cook for 3 to 3 ½ minutes.
- Slide out cooking plate by grasping cooking plate handle and pivoting right until it stops. Lift cover and rings; carefully remove sandwich with plastic spatula.
- Cool slightly before serving.
Makes: 1 serving
Test Kitchen Tip:
Sandwiching the tomato between the slices of cheese help to hold the sandwich in place once cooked.
