We are seeking qualified candidates for a Cost Accounting Analyst opportunity at our Corporate Headquarters in Glen Allen, Virginia.  The Cost Accounting Analyst assists the Manager of Operational Accounting with all aspects of inventory accounting on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.  Responsibilities include variance analysis, perpetual inventory reconciliation and determination of monthly inventory reserves.  The focus of this role throughout the year is to prepare and deliver key inventory reserves such as Excess and Obsolete, Lower Cost or Market reserves, capitalized variances and shrinkage reserves.


Responsibilities of the position include: 

  • Primarily responsible for inventory costs and executing month-end closing procedures associated with the company’s cost accounting system; prepare and manage updates to the standard costs system.
  • Update standard costs and forecast impacts on income statement as needed.
  • Deliver requirements for both internal and external audits, as requested, including SOX compliance deliverables.
  • Reconcile the perpetual to general ledger of inventory. This includes variance analysis, calculation and understanding of key drivers of PPV, and inventory adjustments. 


Requirements of the position include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 0-5 years Cost Accounting experience
  • Skilled at using MS Office Suite; must be highly proficient at using Excel
  • Experienced self directed critical thinker and problem-solver
  • Knowledge/exposure to an ERP System and cost accounting/inventory management a plus
  • CPA preferred
