We are seeking qualified candidates for a Commercial Applications & Quality Engineer opportunity at our Corporate Headquarters in Glen Allen, Virginia. This position is responsible for providing applications and quality engineering support for Hamilton Beach Commercial Products. Be a technical expert on Commercial products and understand how the product is to be used and if any customization is required. Assist with sales presentations, discussions, applications, and demonstrations for potential customers. Monitor, identify, and initiate corrective actions as Commercial Quality Engineer in maintaining Commercial customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Development of custom solutions for specific customer applications
  • Travel to company and customer’s facilities to provide onsite support and training of products
  • Serve as liaison between Company Project Engineers and customers regarding new product design requirements
  • Provide input for new product design and help assess design for manufacturing
  • Write Quality Conformance Specs and review/approve product use and care guides and graphics
  • Oversee field tests, summarize results, and recommend product design improvements
  • Monitor and analyze commercial product quality issues and drive corrective actions
  • Occasional overseas travel to suppliers to review and audit manufacturing processes
  • Support existing products and product requests from suppliers, customers, and internal team
  • Resolve technical issues for customers

Basic Qualifications of this position include:

  • Must have a BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or related discipline)
  • 1-5 years’ progressive engineering experience involving electromechanical consumer products is required
  • Education, training and/or experience in statistical tools for process control and process improvement
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Must have demonstrated an above average ability to participate in a team environment

The successful candidate will have strong technical, problem solving, organization skills. Must be a self-starter, learn-quickly, be able to work independently, and in a team environment, with a strong work ethic. Candidate shall also have experience as a team player, be customer-focused, have polished communications skills and be results driven.
