Credit Representative

We are seeking qualified candidates for a Credit Representative opportunity at our Corporate Headquarters in Glen Allen, Virginia.  The Credit Representative will be responsible for the timely and efficient management and collection of Hamilton Beach Brands’ accounts receivable portfolio. The Credit Representative will utilize their excellent communication, interpersonal, systems and analytical skills to ensure compliance with established credit policies and procedures. 

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Review customer accounts on a daily basis for past due and/or disputed invoices and proactively communicate with the customer taking appropriate action to ensure prompt payment is received.
  • Research disputed items and deductions. Provide customers with proof of delivery and/or other documentation to verify receipt of product and ultimately receive payment for the goods.
  • Navigate through customer payment and dispute portals inputting invoices, creating cases for resolution, and pulling in payment remittance for cash application
  • Review customers’ financial statements and credit history to determine the appropriate credit limits for new and existing customers.
  • Monitor and assess internal procedures and make recommendations to improve efficiencies while minimizing expenses and exposure.
  • Assist with internal & external audits requirements. 

 Basic Requirements: 

  • A minimum of 5 years B2B A/R experience
  • Working knowledge of accounting processes and procedures
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret business periodicals, technical procedures, and shipping/receiving documents
  • Ability to write reports, business communications, and procedures
  • Experience effectively presenting information to business partners
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Demonstrated strength with MS Office products including Excel and Word

The successful candidate will have five years of experience in credit and collections and will be familiar with credit reporting agencies and analyzing financial statements.  They will also have experience with an ERP system.
