We are seeking qualified candidates for a Chief Enterprise IT Architect – Cloud, Software and eCommerce opportunity at our Corporate Headquarters in Glen Allen, Virginia.  This role will lead as HBB’s domain expert in web, software development and cloud technologies applying broad technical experience, with deep technical skills designing and implementing technical solutions that promote business strategy goals through digital transformation, cloud adoption, optimization and automation with an ecommerce and DTC focus.  The Chief Enterprise IT Architect will serve as the subject matter expert in solution architecture, integration, secure development, strategy technical execution capability assessment, cloud, web, and mobility platforms to deliver solutions enabling business growth and sustainability. Leveraging technical expertise and using a leadership, a collaborative and coaching approach, the Chief Enterprise IT Architect will determine current capabilities and future business strategy to drive the design, development, application, and execution of cloud architecture congruent with secure eCommerce, technology industry direction and operational sustainability.

Responsibilities of the position include:

  • Deliver secure, industry leading and sustainable development, integrations, and implementations of advanced solutions.
  • Design of new cloud based solutions and integrations to advance our ecommerce, DTC, direct ship and import distribution and growth (joint venture, partnerships, acquisition) strategy, goals and objectives
  • Leads knowledge transition and move to Azure cloud for all third party cloud and on-prem solutions.
  • Develop transition roadmaps and architecture patterns to migrate legacy systems and their integrations to cloud architectures.
  • Re-architect existing applications and tech stacks to leverage contemporary, secure and confirmed sender/receiver confirmation models and native functionalities. Deliver on operational, quality and performance improvements in re-architected initiatives.
  • Leads the development of cloud transformation strategy and plan with a cloud-first approach. Develops cloud frameworks, methods, and tools in alignment with overall architecture. 
  • Develop documentation, and education/ training materials for use with business and technical stakeholders and partners as well as for Cybersecurity NIST requirements and ITGC.
  • Partner and execute with Cyber, Internal Audit and IT teams on required risk management practices for NIST compliance as well as Disaster recovery and Cybersecurity incident response tabletop exercises.
  • Mentor technical team members and lead peer code reviews through change management and problem management – congruent with ITIL practices.

Requirements of the position include:

  • 4-Year Degree in IT, IS, computer science, computer engineering or related technology field
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience working in an IT function
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience with Windows Server
  • Expert level in ALL three languages: C#, JS, ASP.NET
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in web content management and CMS tools
  • 5 years’ experience in HTTP and XML
  • 5 years’ experience with web and cloud environments
  • Secure programming experience

The suitable candidate has demonstrated technical skills, strong communication skills with the ability to understand business needs and translate them into designs for solutions suitable for delivery.  They have the ability to consistently work swiftly, accurately and with attention to necessary detail to meet critical deadlines. The candidate also focuses on continuous improvement experience in solutions and processes while mentoring and coaching technical team members to achieve strategic objectives together.
