We are seeking qualified candidates for an Application Developer, ERP at our Corporate Headquarters in Glen Allen, Virginia.  This role will, under direction of the IT Manager, research, design, and create BAQs, Updateable/Standard Dashboards, Epicor form customizations, BPMs (including the use of C#), SQL queries, stored procedures, SSRS reporting, and other customizations as required. We continually create technical documentation in the current ERP and WMS systems (Epicor/Koerber One) under aggressive timelines and shifting priorities, with a re-design and continuous improvement objective to take advantage of, and implement, native product functionality and industry leading practices and processes while changing and decommissioning unnecessary, inefficient, and non-value-added processes, procedures, designs and practices.  

Responsibilities of the position include:  

  • Lead the research, analysis, and design of complex end to end systems, interfaces, data and processes that have a high degree of variation.
  • Lead requirements and product lifecycle projects with functional leaders with a sharp focus on simplification, product, and process contemporizing and operational efficiencies. 
  • Determine and recommend new product technical feasibility and new technical approaches and designs.
  • Create and manage new full product development roadmaps, project schedules, cost estimates for research and development, cost reduction, alternative/re-design, operational and controls excellence projects.  
  • Develop new prototypes, testing protocols, testing development and testing execution across multiple business and technical functions.  Develop new, industry-leading designs, components, specifications for complex products.
  • Implementation of automated processes as well as identifying, designing, testing and implementing the re-design/engineering of products and interfaces. 
  • Implement new native product functionality and industry leading practices and processes while changing and decommissioning unnecessary, inefficient and non-value-added processes, procedures, designs and practices.  
  • Create alerts for process, data and system compliance and quality.  Research and resolve problems, corrective actions in accordance with ERP roadmap. 
  • Through daily monitoring, follow up and instruct business partners to ensure business accountability and adherence to procedural compliance, and the strengthening of resulting data accuracy up and downstream.
  • Develop technical product and process documentation as well as education and training materials for use with business and technical stakeholders and partners as well as for Cybersecurity NIST requirements and ITGC.  
  • Participate in peer code reviews through change management and problem management – congruent with ITIL practices.  

Requirements of the position include:  

  • BS Degree in IT, IS, computer science, computer engineering or related technology field.  A master’s degree is desired.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience working in IT function.
  • 5-7 years’ experience with C#, SQL
  • 5-7 years Epicor development experience 
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in product lifecycle management 
  • 10 years’ experience in automation, product, and process improvement
  • Desire to learn new components of our ERP system, including WMS (Koerber One)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to understand business requirements and translate them into sustainable designs for solutions.
  • Working Knowledge of Financial processes and an understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and independently with business functions to achieve product and project results.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and methodologies with a desire to coach and assist team members.
