Recipe - Spiced Mango Chamomile Tonic

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups chopped fresh Mango
  • 1” to 2”  cube fresh ginger
  • 1 cup Sparkling water or Soda
  • 1 Tbsp of apple cider vinegar or ½ squeeze of a lemon
  • Chamomile flowers for garnish
  • Star anise for garnish
  • Fresh mango slices for garnish

Spiced Chamomile Tea Syrup

  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup granulated Sugar or coconut sugar
  • 1 small stick cinnamon
  • 2 to 3 Star anise
  • 4 to 6 cloves
  • 2 to 3 pods of cardamom
  • 3 to 4 whole black peppercorn
  • 1 bag chamomile tea

Cinnamon Sugar

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar or coconut sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Directions

For the Syrup

  1. In a small heavy bottomed saucepan, over medium heat, combine all the ingredients, bring to a boil, remove the tea bag, and continue to simmer for 10 to 15 minutes. Turn stove off and let spices steep in syrup until fully cooled. This syrup can be stored in the fridge for upto two weeks.

Assembly

  1. In the Hamilton Beach Juicer, juice together 1.5 cups fresh mangoes and fresh ginger.
  2. In a mocktail glass - Rub the rim of the glass with a half cut lemon then dredge in cinnamon sugar. Place a large ice cube or crushed ice in the glass, pour ½ cup fresh mango & ginger juice, followed by 2 Tbsp of Spiced chamomile syrup, followed by ½ cup sparkling water or soda. Finish with a heavy dash or half Tbsp of apple cider vinegar, gently stir. Garnish with chamomile flowers, star anise, and fresh mango slices, sprinkle generously with cinnamon sugar. Enjoy!
